Mmmmm

mornin.... early post for me as i'm out & about today.... this weeks challenge on Cute Card Thursday was to make a card around the theme of Food!.... ha ha as most of my cards lately are cupcakes, i was spoilt for choice!... however I have made a new one... here its is:
Life this week has been busy, work's been hectic lots of new stuff with the new job & it was London Fashion week so lots of stuff to do for that. I had a day trip to our Hamper supplier in the middle of nowhere in Dorset which was a long day but worthwhile. Anya Hindmarch has designed this years hampers which are very different from what we have done before.
Friday i caught up with some friends which was so not planned...ended up out for dinner and had a really lovely evening. Similarly I went out with my friend Chris & my mum last week and had a lovely evening.Evening's out for me are like buses wait ages for one to come along and then 2 arrive together! ...I've managed 2 books this week for my train read (can you tell i spent ages on the train this week!)..The first was Clean Cut by Lynda la Plante (author of the fab Prime Suspect series) fab book but very gruesome...the second even more horrific Skin Privilege by Karin Slaughter...follows on from her last with an ending that you are desperate for the next one to come out!...this week will be chick lit froth to recover! Today i'm off to the Rugby....Saracens are playing Newcastle and the lovely Johnny Wilkinson is back playing as he is fit from his shoulder injury,(so phoned my friend and invited myself along!!)...mmmmm very yummy!
afternoon update...have just got back from the rugby...Saracens beat Newcastle.44-14..but Johnny scored a try! yeh!...my brother completed his half marathon this morning in Windsor in 1and a half hours and my nephew Bradley got his brown belt in karate this afternoon...so a fab day all round....here's Johnny practising mmmm

Jaffa Cake Cupcakes

i'm still trying to catch up with my a-z cupcakes...so here's my jaffa cake cupcakes (complete with orange jelly!)...papers are from SEI...they are very simple.. the cupcakes are a plain cupcake baked and left to cool. Prior to making the cupcakes make an orange jelly in a shallow container. I used a 1/4 water and a 1/4 orange tango/fanta fizzy orange (also lined the shallow container with cling film).Once cupcakes are cool, turn out jelly onto greaseproof paper, cut small circles of jelly with a cookie cutter (just smaller than cupcake) Brush top of cupcake with marmalade and top with jelly. melt plain chocolate spoon over the top of the jelly & cupcake..leave to harden in fridge..top with orange slice.

pink & chocolate challenge

Tilda & Co challenge for today was Pink & chocolate......two of my favourite colour combinations....instead of making a card i decided to accent a layout I have made to compliment my mums birthday cake i made for her recently. The only Tilda worthy of decorating the page was Tilda & cupcake!!....thanks for the challenge ladies..Tx

Off to the Tower.....

Today Gramps & I went to the Tower of London...Gramps has never been and i went when i was in the brownies! ....we had a fab time, it is a beautiful place and when siting in the grounds it's hard to believe that you are in the city of London. Due to Gramps's wheelchair we had limited access to some areas but what we could access was stunning. The Jewel house is amazing. Ironically my Tube read this week has been The Other Boleyn Girl, I have never read this type of genre before but have been gripped all week on the train, so seeing some of what is described in the book was great. I will definitely go back on my own to explore. Here are a couple of snaps...

Afterwards we strolled along the river before getting the tube as it was a really lovely warm night in London. I love London at night. On Saturday after doing gramps's shopping & stuff I went to my friend Karen's. I had a really lovely time, just chilling and spending time with Karen, family and her two adorable boys, Jack & Harry.( It's the only place that I get a whole night's sleep at!...I sleep terribly at home getting about 3 - 4 hours most night and less if I stay at Gramps's...so 6 hours unbroken for me is fantastic).....the boy's got new scooters so they were up & down the drive with them. Sunday we did some scrapping with the boys as they have just returned form their holiday and had pics & postcards to scrap.
Last night I finally uploaded some photo's ..hopefully it will inspire me to scrap some layouts....
