Torch Tour

Today the Olympic Torch came to to town... Early this morning I headed down the end of my road to where the torch would pass and was pleasantly surprised to see so many people with a similar idea. Children in local schools had obviously spent their last week making flags and torches for the parade.
The atmosphere was carnival like and the blue skies and sunshine just enhanced the party atmosphere. The police on bikes kept the crowd entertained before the sponsor trucks arrived.
Having seen the width and breadth of the country that the torch has travelled along with ingenious places the torch has been, the planners deserve a big cheer. Everyone was very excited to see the torch. Even though I didn't know the torch bearer there was a real sense of pride when he turned the corner carrying the torch aloft for all to see.

The torch relay has captured the heart of the nation through rain, more rain and a little sunshine, and I can't wait to see it in central London on Thursday ...
Glad to see David Beckham on the side of the Samsung sponsor vehicle!... also loved the sponsor vehicle mini & BMW !
