Two weddings and a Funeral

As the title suggests, my life over the last two weeks.... a real roller-coaster, a ride that I am still on and will probably be for some time.
I would like to say a heartfelt thankyou for all the comments, emails and cards that I have received on the passing of my beloved gramps. I am constantly amazed by 'blogland' and the fact that people that i don't know read my blog and take the time out of their busy lives to show they care, so a really big THANKYOU x
My days currently fluctuate between complete denial that he's gone to an overwhelming sadness that he's no longer here, and dealing with this huge void that he has left in my life. I know with time that my life will re-adjust, but for now the roller-coaster continues to go through loops.
After my nan passed i took some time off and completed a floristry course, my gramps was extremely proud and loved everything that I did.
So with a heavy heart I made the decision to do my brother & I's flowers and flowers from my niece and nephew,the great grandchildren.



Our final goodbyes were said with military honours last wednesday in glorious sunshine.

wedding two...

In amongst the fog of grief i have had my friend Lucy's wedding cake to finish. Lucy and Chris (bride & groom) flew off to Mexico in the middle of march with family & friends to get married on April 2nd. Due to various reasons I made the decision last year not to go to Mexico, in hindsight i am so glad that I did as circumstances changed drastically. Part of the wedding ceremony in mexico involved releasing butterflies, so this became a common thread throughout the wedding theme. On Easter Saturday Lucy & Chris held a blessing and reception for friends & family that couldn't go to mexico. I didn't attend the day as my social skills are not too good at the moment, also the day is a celebration for Lucy & Chris and I didn't want to distract from that. Wishing you both a lifetime of health, happiness, love & luck.

This was the wedding that took place the day before my gramps passed away.

The list of "to do's" for this wedding was long!...fortunately it all came together for the day. Ellie & Rob (bride & groom) choose Teal as their colour 18months ago. This was followed by some head scratching as the colour is quite hard to find. Fortunately this season's colour within fashion etc has been Teal so I was able to pick up papers etc easier on the high street. to refresh this was my list of 'to do's';
