Glitter Gossips weekly challenge!

Well today is the Glitter Gossips first weekly challenge on UKS....the challenge is to use Sketch, Something American, Quotation marks, Glitter, Stars or stripes...this was to in recognition of Independence day as our challenge fell in that week and that one of our team are moving to America in the next few weeks to take up a teaching post...well here's mine!...wasn't short on any inspiration and the hardest job was settling on what photo's to use!

On a completely different slant now...who saw Top Gear last night...they had the lovely & scrummy Rupert Penry Jones as star in a reasonably priced car....it was very funny.. i'm on a shortlist for audience tickets I would have been beside myself if i'd turned up and he had walked on!!..also i've added another clip from spooks as i'm having withdrawal symptoms...accompanied by duran duran!!

Roses & Love....Tilda & Co Sunday Challenge

Here is this weeks card for the Tilda & Co challenge...haven't done any for a while but liked the sketch and I felt like colouring in tonight!....( for those that have seen Sex & the City will have a completely different thought in their mind!!!!)....I've used Tilda with roses, the magnolia rose stamp and a Stampin up sentiment...papers are Melissa Frances.......

Gramps, the City & me!

well i've managed to get a double layout finished for Gramps's book...he's made me laugh this weekend. He had a great time on his trip down the Thames...we now have Greenwich on the list of Things to do!....he also wants to know if he is going to have a party in Hyde Park for his 90th!....like Nelson Mandela....I said no unfortunately not! however I am taking him 'home' to Bury St Edmunds at the end of the month so he's quite excited about that......the rest of my week has been fairly quiet.....this week's book reads were: The Bride Hunter, which was good light hearted fun....and Death Message by Mark Billingham which was the next installment of DI Thorne....very good read....off now to cook dinner...Tx

Hummingbird Cupcakes.....

MMMMMmmmmm these are yummy!.....these originate from the American south but made famous in the Magnolia Cupcake bakery in New York.....

CupCakes:

* 112g Plain Flour,

* 1/4 tsp each of bicarbonate of soda, cinnamon,nutmeg

* 22g dessicated coconut

* 112g caster sugar

* 32g chopped pecan nuts

* 1 Large Egg (59g)

* 140g mashed very ripe banana

* 62ml Oil (sunflower/peanut)

* 90g crushed pineapple

Cream Cheese Icing:

* cream cheese

* 10gm butter

* 100g sifted icing sugar * 1tsp pineapple juice

Preheat oven to 190'c.....Stir flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, add coconut sugar & pecans and combine. In a separate bowl lightly beat egg, add banana, oil & pineapple. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients ..Stir!

Divide mixture into cupcake cases, (makes 9) Bake for 20 minutes.
Beat Cream cheese, butter, icing sugar & pineapple juice....Ice cakes when cool. then Eat! mmmmmm

City that never sleeps......

I've managed to do some scrapping this week!....Finally managed to get my layout finished for the Glitter Gossips challenge on UKS next week...so watch this space as I will be posting it on monday. In the meantime I've managed to do this weeks challenge which was to incorporate; Cities, 3 photo sketch, Ribbon, & Patterned paper....well I think i've managed and it's so not me!!...I got the papers in this months kit from sarah's cards and fell in love with it....I think it really sets the photo's off....I'm typing this while watching Gok's style tipes on Gok's fashion Fix..i'm loving the haberdashery chic!!!...scrapping on clothes!!!!.....Our sale started at work today and it was mad!...q'ing round the block for LV & Gucci!...oxford street was a sea of yellow bags on the way home!....I'm thinking of hosting a swap on UKS..a cupcake recipe card swap...so if you are interested drop me a comment so that i can guage what interest there would be.....cupcakes & hugs Teresa x

Today is my Godson's 3rd Birthday.......Happy Birthday Harry....Lots of Hugs & Kisses........spent the day at Karen's house yesterday, as she had a BBQ for H's birthday....we were blessed with really lovely weather and had a fab day. Was absolutely exhausted when I got home......Here is the card that I made....using the lovely Hanglar stamps. I'm so excited that they are finally coming to the UK soon...I have to send a really big Thankyou to Kirsti on UKS for sending me the image.xxxxx

hi everyone....hope everyone has had a good week....spent the morning at gramps's..he's a little brighter today, he's off on a day trip with the hospice next week, which he's looking forward to. He's going on a boat trip up the thames!

Went to a friends for dinner tonight, had a lovely evening and it gave me a fab excuse to make my Gin & Tonic Cupcakes!...my friend is very partial to a G&T so these were great for a hostess gift!...also decorated a wine tag for one of the guests birthday.

For the Cupcakes: I used a basic plain sponge recipe for the cupcakes, substituting milk/water with Tonic water. For the Icing ...250gm mascapone, 2Tsp Golden Syrup, Blue/Green Food colouring, 1or2 Tbsp Bombay Sapphire Gin.

A girl can never have too many handbags or shoes!

Evening everyone.....i've just participated in a Handbag, Shoe & Hat ATc swap!...here's mine...fab swap...thanks girls for the lovely cards...will try & post a pic soon....I sooo love Shoes & Bags....and have fallen in love with the Blue Manolo Blahniks in Sex & the City!....yes I have been to seen it again!...still cried!...and so want that fairytale!...shoes, closet, Big!, NY library.....the list is endless.....

Have caught up either by mail or just spending time with lots of old friends over the last couple of weeks....even one that i've not seen in 20 years which has been great. I'm very lucky to have 2 school friends still part of my daily life, and my life would be incomplete without them....when we are together we have the ability to think we're 14 all over again!...when we are in fact a few years off of 40!...scary!...

I'm going to try and arrange a girly reunion for us all in the summer!...

Gramps is particularly Grumpy today!...not sure why just one of those days I think....i'm currently working on a layout for a challenge on UKs...The Glitter Gossips are setting the weekly challenge in a couple of weeks time and I need to get my layout finished ready but having a creative block at the moment!...can't post anything yet,,,but watch this space! Finished my book so have moved onto a new one ...this weeks book read is LIPSTICK JUNGLE by Candace Bushnell (yes she wrote SATC)...have read it already but felt the need to read it again!..coming soon to Living TV.

hi...wow managed to get a layout done today for gramps's book and it fits this weeks challenge on uks!!...something from my childhood, (gramps garden), use pink (flower), metal (brads), stripes(paper)and something recycled (ribbon)!....hope everyone has had a lovely fathers day...left gramps with a little glass of abbotts ale...brewed by greene king in Bury St Edmunds where he was born... and worked as a delivery boy!....

wow two weeks since i posted...not sure where the time has gone....today is fathers day so off to spend some time with gramps soon....here is his 'gramps' day card....i spent many hours in the garden or on the allotment with him when i was a little girl so this stamp is fab!..and brings back lots of lovely memories.

....have been out and about a bit recently...spent a couple of days with my friend Karen and her family last weekend which was lovely...Jack & Harry are gorgeous and growing up very fast. I was educated in the latest boy thing - Ben 10! mmmm hadn't heard of it myself but now I am an educated 'aunty'!...Harry is 3 next weekend so making plans for that....Karen gave me my birthday prezzie early...she has bought me the lovely pink & black Bigshot!...i don't have any crafting tools/cutting stuff...so very excited to get this...and my lovely stamps came from stampinup, which I have admired from afar and bought whilst on special offer!...and have used on gramps's card...My train buddy is back from her holiday...so it's been lovely to have her back on the train in the morning....we managed to get pre-release tickets for the final George Michael concert in London in august...so we are both looking forward to that..this weeks tube book has been Martina Cole - Faces....have left her books alone for a while, but really enjoyed this...trip down memory lane with some of the places that they she writes about.... off now pop back later...have a lovely sunday. nan & gramps...

bit late with posting i know...but here is a layout that i did at scrapaholix this week...it's a complete contrast to what i usually do but i'm tempting fate and working on an album for Gramps 90th birthday which is in Dec so the style reflects that....sunday flew by I had the migraine from hell, been a bit stressed and I think it just all got a bit too much sunday....this weeks not been much better....my train buddy's on holiday this week so i've read lots!..(that's probably not helping the headaches!)....this weeks read is Gucci Gucci Coo...just started so watch this space....have re-read this Something Borrowed which is one of my favs....soooo love this book!..definitely in my top 10. I'm off to the flicks again friday to see the fantastic SATC with my oldest friend Karen..i'm very excited about seeing it again!...hugs.Tx Belated birthday wishes to my dear friend Marion...it was her birthday monday....love & hugs.
