can we have too many?..... quite clearly not, and due to our obsession with them, there's only a musical about them!. Tonight I went to the Sadlers Wells PeacocK Theatre to watch the Song & Dance revue Shoes.
It's completely bonkers but a brilliant bonkers. A whole evening of dance & song paying homage to the Shoe. Richard Thomas wrote and composed the musical and this is what he said he found out whilst researching:
1. The Imelda Marcos Syndrome is alive & kicking across all ages and income brackets
2. Women are errr.... economic with the truth about how much they spend on shoes.
3. Women buy designer shoes to impress other women - men do not factor into this!
4. Shoe designers are beautiful, tender lovely specimens of humanity!
I couldn't agree more!
On arrival we were greeted by a red carpet and as we walking up it the flashbulbs started to pop, behind us was Craig Revel Horwood from Strictly followed shortly by Michael McKells (naughty Nick from Emmerdale). We spoke to both after the show, who both had friends in or producing it. Both lovely.... signed programme and a pic with the naughty Michael.
Anyone who has a love of shoes should see this show, it makes no sense but is extremely good fun and the dancers are amazing.
