knit 1, purl 1....

the nights are drawing in, so perfect time for the knitting needles to come out!.... this year i'm spolit for choice crochet or knitting!!... mmm my friends complain that i'm a 'hermit' already as i'm a nightmare to get out! i've now got something else to keep me from venturing out!!!...
Tonight I made over a knitting pattern book of my nans, with some great papers from cosmo cricket and a stamp from hanglar....its full of old patterns which i love. They bring back lots of memories as my gramps knitted a lot for me when I was little.
I've also knitted a little bag to put my crocheting in, whilst i'm on the train in the morning!... granny squares are coming on!

It looks like she's caught the blogging bug too! I've booked to do the flower brooches... hopefully will see some of you there!
I have also discovered this amazing blog by Vanessa, who's crocheted scarf is so on my wish list.....a lovely bright funky blog. Kelly has also posted a knitting post, supporting this great cause and a worthy reason to get the knitting needles out!

birthday wishes.........

I have had 2 birthday celebrations this week... the first was my sister-in-law who is currently celebrating in Florida's Animal Kingdom with hubbie & kids.... I picked the papers to compliment the venue and the stamped image is courtesy of Hanglar & Stanglar ...both my brother & sister in law run regularly and will even take their 'runners' away with them.. so I hope that she had a fab birthday with Mic & Min..... the second birthday was my friend Lucy... so Happy Birthday hun... we met up last night, it was lovely to see her & the family as we haven't caught up for a while.Birthday Wishes for you both....she's off camping for a couple of days.. so have fun!!

Birthday boy...

Today is my Godson's brother Jacks 6th birthday... Happy Birthday Jack. He is currently with his brother in Euro Disney for a few days. They are back at the weekend, hopefully he has had lots of fun with Mic & Min, Goofy & Donald.

As you can see I've used one of my hanglar images which i love!... in lovely tones of blue & brown. The present is of course wrapped to compliment the card!

This weeks challenge over at Cute card Thursday was tags!.... i had a card to make today for my Godson ~ Harry who turns 4 on Tuesday, so I decided to use this challenge. as you know I've started to scrap again after my ups & downs and really enjoyed this.... so thanks ladies.

A Spoonful of Sugar.....

Evening everyone.....here is my card for this weeks challenge on " A spoonful of sugar".....another christmas card but with an image from the lovely hanglar stamps!....i can't wait for these to arrive in the uk. This week i opened my swap on UKs for Christmas Cupcake Recipe swap..the lovely ladies replied in abundance and i now have 4 groups of 10 recipes...so watch this space.

As you can see i've updated my blog with scrummy cupcakes and also the new Bond trailer....mmmm i'm a sucker for a guy in a suit....talking of suits i was so distracted by a gorgeous man in a tux at liverpool street station i nearly fell off the platform!..with that thought i'm off ...cupcakes & hugs Tx

Beach, Sun & Birthday's!

Morning...Today is Jack's 5th Birthday...he is on his holiday's in Menorca. Jack is my friend Karen's son and the brother of my Godson Harry....so Big Birthday Hugs & Kisses Jack...mummy packed lots of goodies for you so I hope that you enjoy....Ben10 was very popular this year!....here is Jack's card...it's the first time that i've tried a pop up..used a mixture of Hanglar & Magnolia images....the outside of the card is a suitcase which i addressed with a postcard and luggage stamped.

Today is my Godson's 3rd Birthday.......Happy Birthday Harry....Lots of Hugs & Kisses........spent the day at Karen's house yesterday, as she had a BBQ for H's birthday....we were blessed with really lovely weather and had a fab day. Was absolutely exhausted when I got home......Here is the card that I made....using the lovely Hanglar stamps. I'm so excited that they are finally coming to the UK soon...I have to send a really big Thankyou to Kirsti on UKS for sending me the image.xxxxx

happy gramps day!....

wow two weeks since i posted...not sure where the time has gone....today is fathers day so off to spend some time with gramps soon....here is his 'gramps' day card....i spent many hours in the garden or on the allotment with him when i was a little girl so this stamp is fab!..and brings back lots of lovely memories.

....have been out and about a bit recently...spent a couple of days with my friend Karen and her family last weekend which was lovely...Jack & Harry are gorgeous and growing up very fast. I was educated in the latest boy thing - Ben 10! mmmm hadn't heard of it myself but now I am an educated 'aunty'!...Harry is 3 next weekend so making plans for that....Karen gave me my birthday prezzie early...she has bought me the lovely pink & black Bigshot!...i don't have any crafting tools/cutting stuff...so very excited to get this...and my lovely stamps came from stampinup, which I have admired from afar and bought whilst on special offer!...and have used on gramps's card...My train buddy is back from her holiday...so it's been lovely to have her back on the train in the morning....we managed to get pre-release tickets for the final George Michael concert in London in august...so we are both looking forward to that..this weeks tube book has been Martina Cole - Faces....have left her books alone for a while, but really enjoyed this...trip down memory lane with some of the places that they she writes about.... off now pop back later...have a lovely sunday. baked with love...

wow another week gone!....nothing as glamorous this week..just normal work stuff!...gramps is a little brighter this week so that helps with the day to day stuff.i got lots of 'goodies' in the post this week...the 'sisters' have completed their first image swap ...so thanks Monica for hosting that and also Kirsty on uks hosting a magnolia accs swap..thankyou..it was nice to get treats and not bills!...i've finished a card today with an image from Hanglar...these stamps are much sort after as they are only available in Sweden & Norway..it's accompanied by stamps from a 'kiss the cook' range which I love!!.....Train/Tube journey's have been a little trying this week so have managed to read two books......Chasing Harry Winston....which is absolutely fab!...definitely left you wanting more and a great prelude to Sex & the City (sorry couldn't go a whole post without mentioning!!!...booked tickets off to see on wednesday!)...also read Bridesmaids...also good..great for any bride-to-be and bridesmaid very funny!......off now CSI NY soon...hugs Tx
